Professional sports teams in Atlanta are just a short drive away and include the Braves (baseball), Falcons (football), and the Hawks (basketball).  Local colleges provide exciting collegiate sports, plus Atlanta is host to the Peach Bowl every year and our Atlanta Motor Speedway hosts NASCAR events.

Atlanta Braves:
One of the most successful teams in baseball today, the Braves were established in 1876 as the Boston Braves and came to Atlanta from Milwaukee in 1966. The Braves play 8l home games during the regular season, which runs April – September.  The Braves play at Turner Field, a stadium built for the 1996 Summer Olympic games.

Atlanta Falcons:
The Atlanta Falcons franchise was awarded to the city in June 1965, with the first regular season game in September 1966. The team plays at the Georgia Dome, August – December. The Falcons won the NFC championship in 1998.

Atlanta Hawks:
Professional basketball came to Atlanta in 1968 with the Hawks. The regular season runs November through April. The Hawks play their home games in the Philips Arena in downtown Atlanta.
